Netflix Announces Films and Shows Playing at 2025 Annecy International Animation Film Festival

This afternoon, Netflix has announced their return to the Annecy International Animation Film Festival for 2025. This year, the streaming giant is bringing a number of interesting titles. They’re going to preview In Your Dreams as well as Stranger Things: Tales From ’85. Netflix will also have the World Premiere of Fixed from Genndy Tartakovsky at Annecy, so that’s exciting. Last year, they brought Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, which was well on its way to an Oscar nomination. Could something like In Your Dreams follow? We shall see.

The films and shows playing at Annecy are as follows, from Netflix’s press release:

Netflix returns to the Annecy International Animation Film Festival with a bold, genre-spanning line-up of films, series, and special events. This follows a standout year for Netflix Animation, with the Oscar-nominated Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl winning two BAFTAs, Arcane earning seven Annie Awards, and Orion and the Dark earning Children and Family Emmys for Best Special Production and Best Writing.

A full rundown of Netflix’s Annecy activity includes:

  • Next on Netflix Animation returns to Théâtre Bonlieu on Wednesday, 11 June. This year’s session will feature exclusive previews of In Your Dreams and Stranger Things: Tales From ‘85. Executive producer Eric Robles will present a world-exclusive first look at the Stranger Things animated series, while director Alex Woo, production designer Steven Pilcher, and VFX supervisor Nicola Lavender will debut never-before-seen footage from their upcoming film In Your Dreams during a special panel.
  • The world premiere of Fixed will take place at Annecy on Wednesday, 11 June. The newly acquired adult comedy film from Genndy Tartakovsky (Primal, Hotel Transylvania) brings his signature irreverence and artistry to the big screen.
  • A masterclass with Raphael Bob-Waksberg, the creator of BoJack Horseman, follows on Thursday, 12 June. He’ll be joined by the team behind his upcoming adult comedy series, Long Story Short, with audiences getting an early look at an episode ahead of its debut.
  • Work-in-Progress and Making of sessions for Ubisoft’s popular Tom Clancy game franchise, Splinter Cell: Deathwatch, and Folivari’s French preschool series 7 Bears for a behind-the-scenes look at these titles.
  • For the first time, Netflix will host a dedicated Animated Series Studio Focus on Thursday, 12 June, giving audiences an in-depth look at our full animation series slate. From preschool (Dr. Seuss’s Horton!) to adult spectacle (Blue Eye Samurai season 2, Magic: The Gathering), family spectacle (Ghostbusters, Minecraft), and comedy (Haunted Hotel), this session—led by Netflix Animation executives John Derderian (Vice President, Animation Series), Heather Tilert (Director, Kids + Preschool), Billy Wee (Director, Adult Comedy), Dylan Thomas (Director, Adult Spectacle), and Dominique Bazay (Director, Family Spectacle)—will share insights into our creative and production processes behind our animated slate.
  • And finally, Netflix titles—Astérix & Obélix: Le Combat des Chefs and Devil May Cry—will compete in Annecy’s Official TV Films Competition
