As the Cannes Film Festival continues on, one of the big questions is if NEON will take the coveted Palme d’Or once again this year. They’re on quite the winning streak, too. Joey will have an article on Cannes predictions tomorrow, but today, we can report that NEON just acquired a title at the festival that has a decent shot at the Palme. More below.
According to Variety, NEON has picked up Jafar Panahi‘s film It Was Just an Accident. The movie has been getting raves, so between this and Sentimental Value, NEON likely is feeling good about their Palme chances. We’ll find out over the weekend who and what Cannes honors, but either way, the distributor has another highlight regarded work on their hands.
