A reboot of Scrubs is in development at ABC, and while at first glance that seems unnecessary, it’s being spearheaded by original creator Bill Lawrence. Considering the work Lawrence has been doing of late with Ted Lasso and Shrinking, he more than deserves the benefit of the doubt. A big question has been if the original cast would return. Well, we have our first answer, with the original lead coming back.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Zach Braff is going to reprise his role on the new Scrubs. There’s no word if Braff’s Dr. John ‘J.D.’ Dorian will be the lead or a supporting player, but he’s on board for the show. This does make it seem like more of the original cast will be returning, but a lot will depend on if deals can be made. Braff has been directing episodes of Lawrence’s recent shows, so that relationship continuing likely had something to do with it. More when we have it.

Shrinking is one of the most enjoyable shows out right now, with a cast to match. So, whenever anyone new joins the fray, you hope it’s someone who will add to things, not take away. The upcoming third season of the show already will have Jeff Daniels appearing as the father of Jason Segal‘s character. Now, we know that they’ve also add a very exciting new player in none other than the legend Michael J. Fox.

According to Deadline, Fox is coming aboard as a guest star, reuniting with Bill Lawrence, who had him on his shows Spin City (as star) and Scrubs (as a guest). There’s no word yet on who he’s playing, but with Harrison Ford‘s character dealing with Parkinson’s, there may be a natural pairing. More when we have it, but Shrinking is only getting better, so this is wonderful news for all involved.

This morning, Marvel Television revealed a first look at Ironheart with a teaser trailer debut. The series comes to Disney+ on June 24th, with Dominique Thorne playing Riri Williams, who audiences met in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. You can find out more below, as well as take a look at the trailer in all of its MCU glory.

The press release includes the following details:

Fans are getting a first look at Marvel Television’s “Ironheart” today with the debut of a teaser trailer and poster. Launching exclusively on Disney+ on June 24, the intriguing new series stars Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, a young, genius inventor whose iron suits rival the best in the MCU. The character made her debut in 2022’s “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” directed by Ryan Coogler. “Ironheart is such a great character in publishing,” said Coogler. “In 2016, Brian Michael Bendis created a character who would be a successor of sorts to the Iron Man legacy. In the comic book, Riri Williams and Tony Stark had a relationship—she was a student at MIT who came from an almost polar opposite background as Tony, but they came together in their passion to better society. Eventually, the character gets her own identity as Ironheart, and other writers like Eve Ewing picked up from there, taking Riri Williams to Chicago.”

Set after the events of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” “Ironheart” pits technology against magic when Riri—determined to make her mark on the world—returns to her hometown of Chicago. Her unique take on building iron suits is brilliant, but in pursuit of her ambitions, she finds herself wrapped up with the mysterious yet charming Parker Robbins aka “The Hood” (Anthony Ramos). The series also stars Lyric Ross, Alden Ehrenreich, Regan Aliyah, Manny Montana, Matthew Elam and Anji White. Chinaka Hodge is head writer; episodes are directed by Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes. Executive producers include Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Zoie Nagelhout, Chinaka Hodge, Ryan Coogler, Sev Ohanian and Zinzi Coogler. Music is by Dara Taylor. Produced in association with Proximity Media,“Ironheart” launches on Disney+ June 24, 2025.

Here now is the teaser trailer for Ironheart:

The Studio is a hit! We already knew that critics as well as film fans were into the show, but it seems like Apple TV+ is too. Today, they announced that a second season of the comedy has been ordered. The show stars Seth Rogen (who also serves as co-creator, writer, director and executive producer), Catherine O’HaraKathryn HahnIke BarinholtzChase Sui Wonders, and Bryan Cranston. Now, we know more is on the way. Details can be found below.

Here is the press release:

Matt Remick scores a win for Continental Studios! Following the widely celebrated premiere of “The Studio,” Apple TV+ today announced that the critically acclaimed, star-studded hit series has landed a renewal for season two. Since its global debut, “The Studio” has struck a chord with cinephiles, fans and critics alike, and has been declared the “best new comedy of 2025,” as well as “one of Hollywood’s sharpest self-portraits in ages.”

“We’re thrilled to be making a second season of ‘The Studio.’ We’re looking forward to taking the lived experience of making season one and immediately putting it into season two, then repeating that loop for ten more seasons,” said creators and executive producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. “And, we’re excited to keep all our industry friends and colleagues guessing as to when one of their personal stories will stream on Apple TV+.”

“Seth, Evan, the entire creative team and cast of ‘The Studio’ have knocked it out of the park with this brilliant show, and it has been incredible to watch the conversation grow with each new episode.” said Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+. “We can’t wait to see where Matt Remick takes Continental Studios in season two, and hope for his sake that the ‘Kool-Aid’ movie crushes at the box office.”

In “The Studio,” Rogen stars as Matt Remick, the newly appointed head of embattled Continental Studios. As movies struggle to stay alive and relevant, Matt and his core team of infighting executives battle their insecurities as they wrangle narcissistic artists and craven corporate overlords in the ever-elusive pursuit of making great films. With their power suits masking their never-ending sense of panic, every party, set visit, casting decision, marketing meeting and award show presents them with an opportunity for glittering success or career-ending catastrophe. As someone who eats, sleeps and breathes movies, it’s the job Matt’s been pursuing his whole life, and it may very well destroy him.

“The Studio” assembles a star-studded ensemble cast led by Rogen, Emmy, SAG and Golden Globe Award winner Catherine O’Hara, Emmy Award nominee Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz and Chase Sui Wonders, with Emmy Award winning guest star Bryan Cranston. The series also features a lineup of cameos from some of Hollywood’s most iconic actors, directors and producers throughout the season.

The eighth episode of “The Studio” premieres this week on Apple TV+. In this week’s new episode, “The Golden Globes,” Matt tries to get Zoë Kravitz to thank him in her award acceptance speech.

Hailing from Lionsgate Television, “The Studio” is created by multi-Emmy Award winners Peter Huyck and Alex Gregory, along with Rogen, Goldberg and Frida Perez. Point Grey Pictures’ James Weaver executive produce the show along with the

creators. Alex McAtee and Josh Fagen also serve as executive producers.

In addition to “The Studio” Rogen also stars in and executive produces “Platonic,” alongside Rose Byrne, with Rogen, Goldberg’s and Weaver’s Point Grey Pictures’ set to produce season two, debuting this summer.

Apple TV+ offers premium, compelling drama and comedy series, feature films, groundbreaking documentaries, kids and family entertainment, and is available to watch across all of a user’s favorite screens. After its launch on November 1, 2019, Apple TV+ became the first all-original streaming service to launch around the world, and has premiered more original hits and received more award recognitions faster than any other streaming service in its debut. To date, Apple Original films, documentaries and series have been honored with 569 wins and 2607 award nominations and counting, including multi-Emmy Award-winning comedy “Ted Lasso” and historic Oscar Best Picture winner “CODA.”

This afternoon, Netflix has announced their return to the Annecy International Animation Film Festival for 2025. This year, the streaming giant is bringing a number of interesting titles. They’re going to preview In Your Dreams as well as Stranger Things: Tales From ’85. Netflix will also have the World Premiere of Fixed from Genndy Tartakovsky at Annecy, so that’s exciting. Last year, they brought Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, which was well on its way to an Oscar nomination. Could something like In Your Dreams follow? We shall see.

The films and shows playing at Annecy are as follows, from Netflix’s press release:

Netflix returns to the Annecy International Animation Film Festival with a bold, genre-spanning line-up of films, series, and special events. This follows a standout year for Netflix Animation, with the Oscar-nominated Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl winning two BAFTAs, Arcane earning seven Annie Awards, and Orion and the Dark earning Children and Family Emmys for Best Special Production and Best Writing.

A full rundown of Netflix’s Annecy activity includes:

  • Next on Netflix Animation returns to Théâtre Bonlieu on Wednesday, 11 June. This year’s session will feature exclusive previews of In Your Dreams and Stranger Things: Tales From ‘85. Executive producer Eric Robles will present a world-exclusive first look at the Stranger Things animated series, while director Alex Woo, production designer Steven Pilcher, and VFX supervisor Nicola Lavender will debut never-before-seen footage from their upcoming film In Your Dreams during a special panel.
  • The world premiere of Fixed will take place at Annecy on Wednesday, 11 June. The newly acquired adult comedy film from Genndy Tartakovsky (Primal, Hotel Transylvania) brings his signature irreverence and artistry to the big screen.
  • A masterclass with Raphael Bob-Waksberg, the creator of BoJack Horseman, follows on Thursday, 12 June. He’ll be joined by the team behind his upcoming adult comedy series, Long Story Short, with audiences getting an early look at an episode ahead of its debut.
  • Work-in-Progress and Making of sessions for Ubisoft’s popular Tom Clancy game franchise, Splinter Cell: Deathwatch, and Folivari’s French preschool series 7 Bears for a behind-the-scenes look at these titles.
  • For the first time, Netflix will host a dedicated Animated Series Studio Focus on Thursday, 12 June, giving audiences an in-depth look at our full animation series slate. From preschool (Dr. Seuss’s Horton!) to adult spectacle (Blue Eye Samurai season 2, Magic: The Gathering), family spectacle (Ghostbusters, Minecraft), and comedy (Haunted Hotel), this session—led by Netflix Animation executives John Derderian (Vice President, Animation Series), Heather Tilert (Director, Kids + Preschool), Billy Wee (Director, Adult Comedy), Dylan Thomas (Director, Adult Spectacle), and Dominique Bazay (Director, Family Spectacle)—will share insights into our creative and production processes behind our animated slate.
  • And finally, Netflix titles—Astérix & Obélix: Le Combat des Chefs and Devil May Cry—will compete in Annecy’s Official TV Films Competition
