‘The Last of Us’ Has Been Renewed for Season Three Ahead of the Season Two Premiere

In just a few days, The Last of Us returns. The hit HBO show is set to premiere Season Two on Sunday night, to massive fan interest. Well, considering the epic source material that the second game provides, it shouldn’t be a surprise that the series will not be completing its story with this season. More below.

According to Variety, HBO has renewed the show for a third season. Show creators creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann (the latter of whom is the game creator as well) have always said it would take multiple seasons to tell the story of The Last of Us: Part II game, so this tracks. Whether we get a fourth season or now remains to be seen, but as you tune in for Season Two, you can rest easy knowing Season Three will be on the way as well.
