The Odyssey was already going to be a spectacle of the highest order, due to it being the next film from Christopher Nolan. Pretty much any movie he makes is a top level blockbuster that pushes the medium forward. Well, this adaptation of the epic Homer poem seems like it’s going to be doing just that as well, by way of IMAX.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Odyssey is going to shoot entirely with IMAX film cameras, which a major production has never done before. Nolan’s prior movies have had sequences shot in IMAX, more and more as the years have progressed, but this is a first. We really could be in for something epic and special here. Stay tuned for more as it films.
